David Alan Reed, 55, of South Charleston, West Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, November 11,2025 at WVU Medicine Thomas memorial Hospital in his hometown.
Born on June 14,1970, in Charleston WV, David spent his life rooted in the community where he was born and raised. He was known for his generous spirit and unwavering willingness to help others. Traits that defined him throughout his life.
David had a deep passion for keeping things clean and running smoothly. Whether it was meticulously shining a set of tires or fixing anything that needed repair, he took pride in making things better for those around him. Friends and Family often joked that if you left your car unattended near Dave, you might return to find it spotless, especially the wheels and tires gleaming like new. His love for music provided a constant soundtrack to his days, adding rhythm to the work he so enjoyed doing with his hands,
Dave loved his job at Happy Days Cafe where he spent countless hours with the work family that he truly Loved.
Dave loved his children and grandchildren. He talked about them daily. They were in his heart always. Dave loved and was thankful for his companion, Janet who he said changed his life for the better.
He is remembered with love by his companion, Janet Turley (Nick Sailsbury); son, David Reed; daughter Courtney Reed; grandchildren, Brielle & Korena; brother, Keith Reed and the surviving mother of his children Trudy (Oberlander) Reed. He also leaves behind a host of other family and friends who were touched by his kindness and generosity.
In the words of his cousin Dan Reed, "I can't think of anyone Dave met who didn't like him." May the memory of David Alan Reed bring comfort to all who knew him and serve as a lasting reminder of a life lived with a full heart.
A Celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2025 from 1:00pm - 3:00pm at Happy Days Cafe 600 D street, South Charleston.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to Happy Days Cafe for end-of-life expenses.
Good Shepherd Mortuary 335 Fifth Avenue, South Charleston, WV 25303 has been entrusted with the arrangements.
