Dave Reott passed away peacefully at age 61 on August 24, 2024 in Pittsburgh PA after a struggle with cancer. Dave was the beloved son of John E. and Mary Alyce (Vith) Reott who preceded him in death, the brother of Raymond (Joanne) and Karyn Reott; the uncle of Ryan Egdorf (Crystal Raffiani), Rebecca Reott (Steve Sherrin) and Kate Reott. He was a cousin of Joey Reott (deceased) and Ed Reott who helped Karyn care for him in his last year. Dave was born September 27, 1962 (on his Mom’s birthday), grew up in Robinson Township and lived most recently in Carnegie.
Dave was an avid outdoors man. He hunted with rifles, pistols, muzzle loaders (that he built) and a bow. After an eye injury, he had to switch hands and learn to do all of those things left-handed! He fished year-round with reels, fly rods and even ice fishing rods.
He loved to repair and race motorcycles. He would travel the region to race in dirt bike and trail-type races.
Professionally, he studied robotics and later became a machinist. Eventually, he owned his own machine shop (Master Machine). He could build or repair almost anything from a guitar to a fishing rod, a rifle to a racing motorcycle, or a truck to a robotic air-controlled hand.
