David Crawford Robinson, Jr., Oóxésta "Alright" age 80, of Billings passed away on July 11, 2025, at Billings Clinic Hospital. Don L.W. gave him the Indian Name.
David was born on February 18, 1945, at the Crow Agency Hospital in Crow Agency, Montana to David C. Robinson, Sr. and Dorothy Thomas Robinson. David lived with his family on Muddy Creek on the Northern Cheyenne Reservations for 6 years until the family moved to Ardmore, OK in 1951. He spent his childhood among his Chickasaw relatives before moving back to the Northern Cheyenne reservation in 1962. After graduating from Colstrip High School in 1965, he joined the United States Air Force and served four years in Turkey before being honorably discharged in 1969.
David met the love of his life, Nancy, in 1998. They were together for 27 years. Nancy's family of 3 sons and 1 daughter took David as a father and the grands all called him grandfather. He was welcomed into Nancy's family, sisters-in-law, Barbara, Cheryl, Barbara, and Jackie. David was baptized in the Hope Center Church of Billings, MT and was very involved with their activities until illness prevented it.
David was very proud of his Northern Cheyenne and Chickasaw heritage. He was a descendant of Humpbackwoman on his Cheyenne side. David's great, great grandparents on his Chickasaw side were forced to walk in the Trail of Tears.
David is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael; and sister, Avis.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy Longjaw Robinson; stepsons, Romaldo Blu, Bryce and Glenn; stepdaughter, Samantha, and all of Nancy's grandchildren; sister, Glenda Corbin; brother John (Dixie) Robinson; and many brothers, sisters, cousins, nephews, and nieces; best friends, Arne and Dee Greiger, and Eileen Buckman; extended families includes all descendants of Sally Harris of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe, Isaac and Eliza Thomas of the Chickasaw Tribe and Jeannie Brown Rowland of the Ogalala Sioux Tribe.
