David Rosko Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that the family of David Albert Rosko, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, announce his peaceful passing Tuesday, April 8, 2025. Born to Albert and Elizabeth Kacerik Rosko, David was the firstborn and a shining star in the lives of many. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, together for 42 years, Tammy Renz Rosko, "My Little Lady"; and three children, Christine Restaneo Schwager (Raymond Schwager), Christopher Rosko (Debbie Rigot Rosko), and Ashley Rosko. David was also a proud grandfather to five grandchildren, Jewel Restaneo (June Alvarizares), Blaire Restaneo (Johnny Rodriguez), John Schwager, Lexie Rosko, Christian Rosko and Emily Rosko; cherished son-in-law to Mabel Garber, and loving uncle to Pete Pleska and Robin Pleska. Dave is remembered fondly by his sister, Rosann Stepanek (Jan); and brother, Andrew Rosko (Hollie); along with the memories of his late parents; and sister, Janet Sekon (Charles). Those who knew Dave recognized him as a man of many talents-a true real-life superhero. A proud graduate of Cecil High School, he served his country in Germany specializing in Military Intelligence and Special Weapons, retiring from the Army in 1997. His adventurous spirit led him to the skies as a pilot and skydiver, while he also honed his skills on the ground as a Judo black belt and karate instructor. Dave had a deep love for nature, excelling as a skilled deer hunter. His green thumb brought forth an incredible garden, specializing in Asian pears and an array of vegetables that delighted his family and friends. Professionally, Dave held various positions, including safety inspector for CONSOL Energy, plant manager at Air Products and Moly Corp, and environmental manager at The Village of Heritage Point in Morgantown, W.Va. He was also a certified EMT / fireman and bounty hunter. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, even continuing to work as a driver for Freedom Transit up until his last day. As we celebrate Dave's extraordinary life, we honor his legacy of service, love, and unwavering support for those around him. He will be profoundly missed, but will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him. Family and friends are welcome from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, in Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317, 724-260-5546, where a blessing service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 16. Burial, with full military honors, will follow at 2:30 p.m. at The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, in his name, to Wounded Warrior Project at https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org/Default.aspx?tsid=11585&ovr_acv_id=16821&campaignSource=ONLINE&source=BS25001AAABREAA&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADg1Wjqdb0PzielmOphvXMdwTEVX4&gclid=CjwKCAjwktO_BhBrEiwAV70jXrB0xRWwe-d7fmoenqBfy6pcok6s_UMzq7-B5LlUdLO3pGQtsAA3RhoCu_wQAvD_BwE
