David Ross Minson passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024, after living a wonderful life of 86 years. Ross was born on October 16, 1937, in Paris, Idaho to Clifford David Minson and Gladys (Smart) Minson. He is the oldest of three and has two amazing sisters. He attended Emerson Elementary and graduated from Fielding High school in 1955.

Ross attended Utah State University from 1955 to May of 1959, graduating with his bachelor's degree in accounting. He wasted no time marrying the love of his life, Karen Beck, on July 16, 1959, in the Logan, Utah Temple. Ross and Karen began their journey together in Paris, Idaho, later moving to Georgetown, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Montpelier, finally settling in Chubbuck, Idaho in 1971.

Ross loved the outdoors and spent much of his life hiking, biking, hunting, skiing, and exploring in the great outdoors. He loved picking huckleberries and getting loads of wood each year with the family. After getting married, he gained a love of dance and spent many years square dancing with his wife Karen. He always loved music and grew up with it in his home, so dancing came second nature to him. Another activity he learned and loved after moving to Idaho was floating the river. He and Karen spent many summers building memories together on the river having water fights, playing games and singing songs.

Ross was never one to sit and do nothing; he was always out working on the yard or in the garden. He wouldn’t give it up even after falling off the woodpile and breaking his back trying to spray the apple tree.

Ross was a great example of service and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need of help. He served in many different callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and blessed the lives of all that he met. He could be found most Sundays greeting people and shaking hands telling them how good it was to see them. He taught his family the importance of service and shared that love with them.

Ross loved his wife and children, and they knew they were number one in his life. He was always there for them and would do anything he could to love and support them. He could always be found at their games, activities, or anything they had going on in their life, cheering them on and showing Christlike love.

Ross was a wonderful father, brother, son, grandpa, friend, teacher, and loving husband. He will be missed.

Ross was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford David and Gladys (Smart) Minson; his daughter, Michelle Robinson; and his granddaughter, Megan Minson.

He is survived by his loving wife, Karen and children Mark (Keri) Minson and Michael (Corey) Minson; his sisters, Linda (Jay) Hammer and Sally (Gary) Warren; seven grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren with one on the way, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4890 Whitaker Rd. Chubbuck, ID 83202. Viewings will be held Friday, June 7, 2024, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Wilks Funeral Home, 211 W. Chubbuck Rd and at 10:00 am on Saturday at the church.
