David A. Roth, age 71 of Defiance, peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center, following a 23 year hard fought battle with Parkinson's Disease.
Dave was born on December 17, 1952 to Harold and Barbara (Harlan) Roth in Defiance, Ohio. He was a 1971 graduate of Ayersville High School. On August 4, 1973 he married Audrey Smith at North Mount Zion Church in Continental, Ohio.
David attended ITT Technical Institute where he received an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering. He started working for DeWolf Electronics and Rettig Music doing electronic repair. Following that he began working for Cable TV as Technical Operations Manager. Later in 1991 David found a passion for real estate. He served as a realtor in the Defiance area for many years.
David loved the water. He enjoyed waterskiing and being out on his boat with family and friends. He had a brilliant mind and could build anything. He enjoyed carpentry and made lots of beautiful furniture. David and Audrey loved hanging out with friends and had many loyal and supportive friendships. David was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family.
David is survived by his mother, Barbara Roth of Forest, MS, his children, Eric (Tania) Roth of Rising Sun, MD, Keri (Randy) Greear and Lisa Roth, all of Defiance, and Christopher Roth of Forest, MS, three grandchildren, Savannah, Nolan and Alyssa, and his brother, Brian Roth of Forest, MS.
He was preceded in death by his father Harold Roth, and his loving wife Audrey Roth.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Schaffer Funeral Home was honored to assist the family with arrangements.
