David Rymer Obituary

Published by Legacy on Sep. 19, 2025.
David F. Rymer, Sr. was born May 29, 1930 in Youngstown, Ohio. He was the only child of Emmett H. and Bessie I. Rymer. Mr. Rymer graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and attended Youngstown College and attained his Bachelors Degree from Barry University in Miami, Florida.

Mr. Rymer married his wife, Mary Catherine Hunnell, in October of 1956, and they remained married till her passing in January of 2016. They had one child of this marriage: David of Wichita, Kansas and a step-daughter: Marsha of Florida. They had three grand-daughters and nine great-grandchildren, all in Florida.

Mr. Rymer retired from the Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant in 1980. Upon his retirement, he went to work for RCA in Alaska as a station manager. Due to his mother's poor health, he transferred to Cape Canaveral AFS, and retired as the Quality Assurance Manager for the Eastern Space and Missile Range.

Dave was an avid boater and fisherman and loved the Alaska outdoors and fishing. He was also an avid golfer and said he had three goals in golf: a hole in one, a single digit handicap, and to shoot his age. In his later years, he said two out of three ain't bad.
