David Luther Sargent, 78, of Sun City, Arizona, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2025. Born on June 7, 1947, in Manchester, New Hampshire, David was the beloved son of Luther H. Sargent and Gloria Sargent.
David pursued higher education at Arizona State University, earning a B.S. in Psychology. His life was marked by service and dedication-he proudly served his country as a Marine Sergeant during the Vietnam War, embodying courage and honor throughout his military career.
In 1969, David married Janet E. Sargent, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with love and devotion. Together they raised two children, Laura A. Geyer and Daniel S. Sargent, who were the pride of his life.
David was a man of many passions. He found joy in fishing, golf, and hunting, pursuits that reflected his love of the outdoors and his appreciation for life's simple pleasures. His laughter, wisdom, and steadfast presence enriched the lives of all who knew him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Janet E. Sargent; daughter Laura A. Geyer and her husband Clayton S. Geyer; grandchildren Shawn C. Geyer, Amber N. Felix, Tyler D. Geyer, Jordan G. Geyer, and Ryann N. Sargent; great-grandchildren Blake O. Geyer, Bentley Felix and Ronald Felix and sister Linda Knueve. David was preceded in death by his parents, brother and his son, Daniel S. Sargent.
David's legacy is one of service, love, and family. He will be remembered for his strength, his kindness, and the deep bonds he nurtured with those around him.
A memorial service will be held in Sun City, Arizona, with details to be announced by the family. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to a veterans' organization in honor of David's service.
