David Paul Schmelz, a dedicated veteran and beloved family man, passed away on August 14, 2025, at the age of 61. He was born on May 26, 1964, in New Albany, Indiana. David served his country faithfully in the United States Air Force, a commitment that he held with immense pride throughout his life. David was not only a veteran but also a devoted husband to his wife of 40 years, Jackie Schmelz. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and memories. Additionally, he loved engaging in roleplaying games, where his imagination could run wild and bring people together for shared adventures and laughter.
Above all, David's proudest accomplishment was the deep love he held for his family and friends. His commitment to nurturing relationships was evident in all aspects of his life, and he leaves behind a profound impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
