David “Dave” Arthur Sears, 56, of Beach Park, Illinois, passed away on September 2, 2025. Dave was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Lawrence William “Jerry” Sears and Melba Sue (Bowen) Sears.
He owned and operated an overhead garage door company for many years. His business was well known for quality work and prompt service. Dave was also an avid race car driver, traveling to drag racing events across the country. Beyond racing, he enjoyed fishing, boating, and many other sports.
He was a graduate of Warren Township High School and attended College of Lake County in Grayslake, Illinois.
Dave is survived by his beloved daughter, Jessica (Andrew) Lester; his mother, Melba Sue Sears; and his former wife, Stacy Sears. He is also survived by many cousins, aunts, uncles, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Sears; his paternal grandparents, Arthur and Velma Mae Sears; and his maternal grandparents, Zeephia Parker Bowen and James Wesley Bowen.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 941 S. Old Rand Rd., Lake Zurich, IL 60047. Interment is private.
