Seefeldt, 80, of Ocala, FL passed away peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2026 under the care of Marion County Hospice at the E.W. and Lucille Cates House in Ocala. Though we mourn our loss we take comfort in knowing he is present with the Lord. Born February 14, 1946 to Bernard and Dorothy Seefeldt. He grew up in Ransomville, NY and graduated from Lew-port High School in 1964. He joined the US Naval Reserve in 1964 and after 2 years active duty he received an Honorable Discharge in 1969. Dave retired from National Grid Power Company after 35 years as a Chief Line Mechanic - Hot Stick in 2003.
In 1972 he bought his house in Wilson, NY on Lake Ontario. In 1986 he married the love of his life and best friend Lynne Hedley. Over the years they enjoyed boating and fishing on the lake and the Niagara River with family and friends and in the winter it was snowmobiling, skating, and cross country skiing. Dave also enjoyed travelling with his travel agent wife to many places including Tahiti. Dave was an animal lover and had a special bond with his golden retrievers, Rusty, Ginger, and Angel. In 2004 Dave and Lynne retired to Ocala, FL. He was kind, loving, funny, and always willing to help others. In Wilson he was a past member of the Lions Club, Tuscarora Yacht Club, Wilson Conservation Club,and past Scoutmaster for Troop 97. He was also a past member of the Ransomville Fire Company, and the IBEW Local 97.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lynne. His sons, Christopher (Stacy) Seefeldt, Jonathan Seefeldt, and two grandsons, Caleb, and Jacob, his sister Jane (Tom) Stevens, 3 brothers, Bruce (Sarah Porter), Thomas (Sandy), Peter (Lettie), and several nieces and nephews, and many good friends.
A Military Service with honors will be held at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Marion County Hospice 3231 SW 34th Ave., Ocala, FL 34474 or the Lewy Body Dementia Association at lbda.org.
