David Eugene Sewolt, age 73 of Arvada, passed away on April 2nd, 2025.
Dave as he liked to be called, was born on January 28th, 1952 in Denver to Peter Joseph Sewolt Sr. and Shirley Mae (Soiseth). He grew up mostly in Arvada and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1971.
He married Kathleen D. Kurtz on May 20th, 1972. They had 2 sons together, Tony and Keith. In High school, he was an avid runner and won a few awards. He had several jobs but for most of his working years he worked at the US Postal Service and retired in 2007.
He loved the outdoors, wildlife, camping, fishing, boating and riding his ATV. He also loved Classic cars and was in the process of restoring a 1953 Ford F100 with his son Keith and brother Gary. He also collected beer, car and fishing signs.
Dave was a very kind and generous person, sometimes to a fault. He was always helping others, asking for nothing in return. He had the biggest heart, and adored children. He always made sure that his grandchildren had snacks available at our house or when camping and loved babysitting them. He taught most of them how to ride bicycles in the cul-de-sac where he lived and bought a Pontoon boat so they could go fishing with him. Dave also loved all pets, especially dogs, and made sure he had plenty of treats for them at home or when visiting.
He is survived by his wife Kathleen, sons Anthony D. and (Winde) Sewolt, Keith M and (Amy) Sewolt, grandchildren Cadence, Linzie, Peter and Anthony; sisters Janice, Diane, Patrica and brothers Pete, Gary, Tim and Kevin.
