David J. Sheils, 61, of Upper Darby, PA passed away peacefully on January 22, 2025.
David was the son of the late James and Dorothy (Moore) Sheils and was born in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated from Upper Darby High School.
He was a member of the Iron Workers Local Union # 852 in Philadelphia. He worked at Crescent Iron Works for 41 years, where he worked on many Philadelphia historical monuments.
He enjoyed his family and friends. The love of his life was his only granddaughter Wren (He fondly called his Sweetpea) He loved to visit her in Maine. He also enjoyed traveling to his parent's homeland of Ireland when possible. He loved music and attended many concerts. He recently lost his cat Starr of 16 years, he lovingly adopted 2 rescue kittens and also took care many strays in his neighborhood.
Devoted father of David (Rhiannon) Sheils; Cherished Grandfather of Wren; Loving brother of Eleanor Duff (Bob), Patricia (Carmen) Semenza, Doreen Cummings and the late James Sheils. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing Friday, January 31, 2025 at 10 am at O'Leary Funeral Home, 640 E. Springfield Rd. Springfield PA 19064 and to his Funeral Service in the Funeral Home.
