In memory of
Cousin Harry Wunsch
June 26, 2025
I am David Shocks cousin. His mom and my dad were brother and sister. I was born 6 months after "davey". That is the only name I ever knew him with. we were the last 2 of 6 cousins. Childhood memories are precious and I had the privelege of having the best cousin anyone would ever want.
His mom Emily (auntie em) would give Davey a fine birthday party.
One year she asked me if i wanted some birthday cake- I said (just a slice) she went inside and actually brought out a plate with an actual SLICE of wood . we laughed forever and talked about it into adulthood.
we went to the same high school together. he was a senior and i was a junior. between classes we would pass one another in the hall and one day I said "WHAT'S BUZZIN CUZZIN" after a while he would also say to me "what's buzzin cuzzin" That stuck with us forever.
My best memory was that we NEVER ever fought, slapped, argued, yelled at, nor had anything but FUN.
Childhood memories - precious
I remember hugging him when he returned from miliary duty and I was so proud I was his cousin. I could go on forever but I will end by saying
"Davey, I love you, I will miss you, and some day I will ask you again " WHAT'S BUZZIN CUZZIN "

My condolences Wanda and family. Dave and I followed similar life paths: Nuner School, John Adams H.S., the military, and the SBPD. Before I retired I had the opportunity to select my replacement as the Crime Stoppers coordinator. Of the many candidates, I had no doubts he would be my choice. Dave became Mr. Crime Stoppers and made all of us proud for his sixteen years at the helm of a highly successful crime-fighting program. Crime Stoppers is still going strong today thanks to Mr. Crime Stoppers. He was one of a kind and will be missed. God bless.

I met Lt. Shock when I started working for Sears Roebuck & Co. I was a Salesperson in Men´s Clothing and he was Loss Prevention. He was always very friendly with me and started a great friendship with him. When i joined SBPD he was one of my first supervisors and was always pranking me and all I could do is laugh, When he took on CrimeStoppers several times he asked me to be in the PSA´s I made a better victim than the suspect. He was a special memory for me and will be missed Prayers for his children your loss is our loss.
