David Simpson Obituary
Publish in a newspaper
A funeral service will be held at 2 P.M., on Sunday, September 14th, 2025; at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood. Rev. JR Murr will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Oakboro Cemetery.
David was born on December 14th, 1961 in Stanly County; to Billy Jake Sr and Mary Willene Simpson. Following graduation, David attended barber school and pursued a successful career in hairstyling– opening his own barber shop, 'Tease Salon', where he worked the remainder of his career.
David was preceded in death by his father, Billy Jake Simpson Sr, and nephew, Shea McSwain.
David was survived by his mother, Mary Willene Simpson; sister, Cynthia McSwain (Stephen); Brothers: Billy Jake Simpson Jr. (Vickie), and Jeff Simpson (Julie); and numerous nieces and nephews. David also had two very special fur babies, Coco and Gus, that will miss him dearly.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Leukemia Foundation, local ASPCA, or local Humane Society.

It is with great sadness to have learned about David´s passing. My sincere condolences to David´s family.
During the time I had the pleasure of knowing David, he was always a joy, kind and a good friend. We had some good times full of fun and laughter.
May my friend David have peace and love, may our hearts heal from our loss, and may his memory continually bring a smile to all those he touched.

David, a dear friend who could make you smile and laugh. We will miss his loving , generous nature, always ready to give of himself. We will miss his beautiful presence but we have our memories and David stories that make us feel like he is just around the corner ! Much love GT and Ginger Taylor

I knew David for many, many years and always left his salon feeling a better person. His skill with the scissors made you feel beautiful but it was his gentle spirit and kind words that made your world a happier place.
May your love and memories offer you comfort during this sad time. Taken from us too soon. Rest in peace Gentle Soul.
