David K. Singleton, a cherished member of the Augusta community, was born on July 11, 1960, in Augusta, Georgia. He departed from this world on January 27, 2026, leaving behind a legacy deeply rooted in love, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to helping others.
David graduated from George P. Butler High School in the Class of 1978, setting forth on a life defined by dedication and camaraderie. His career took him through various roles at Pan Am and the Veterans Affairs hospital, where he was known for his exceptional work ethic. Beyond his professional achievements, David was celebrated for his generous spirit. He served as a trusted friend and a helping hand to countless individuals throughout the community, embodying the true essence of selflessness. His warmth and kindness touched many lives; indeed, he loved everyone he met, but it was clear that God loved him best.
David is survived by his beloved father, Sam Singleton, Jr.; his son, Juanithy Conley; his daughter, Latoya (Leslie) Singleton; and his siblings, Brenda Singleton, Micheal Singleton, Betty Harrison, Isaiah Barksdale, Rosemary (Jason) Beard, and Kenneth Barksdale. He also leaves behind a large family of grandchildren: Micheal Dean, Tyniquwa Singleton, Simeko Singleton, Cartrez Edwards, Breanna Brown, Talaya Singleton, Taylor Foreman, Jaunthiny Conley, Jr., Xyon Garrett, Caziny Conley, Ayden Conley, Oliva Ruth Conley, and a host of great-grandchildren, including Aubrey Harden, Legacy Edwards, Kamarie Brown, Elani Brown, Loyal Edwards, and Ruth Conley. His connections with family and friends were abundant; his life-long friend, Craig Curry, and many other relatives and friends will remember him fondly.
David's journey through life was not without sorrow, as he mourned the loss of his mother, Ella Mae Singleton Mosby, and his brother, Eugene Lewis. Additionally, he grieved for his great-granddaughter, Milani Conley. Yet, through these challenges, he remained a beacon of hope and resilience for those fortunate enough to have known him.
As we reflect on David K. Singleton's life, we are reminded of his unwavering love and kindness. He will forever hold a special place in our hearts, and his legacy of generosity and spirited friendship will live on in the many lives he touched. David's spirit is now at peace, having returned to the embrace of the Almighty, as he continues to inspire us to love fiercely and serve selflessly.
