While we saw each other only rarely, I enjoyed hearing updates on David's doings - so many and so varied. And I'll always remember the zest for life he showed when we did meet. Rest in peace.

Lifelong friend, David, the world was a better place with you in it. Starting in high school at Oakwood, and through the decades, with your quick wit, sparkling eyes, free spirit and eloquent pen, you delighted me along with so many others. True friend of the Friends' tradition, you had a wonderful journey. My heart goes out to your loved ones. You are missed.

I remember with delight David's intellectual curiosity. He read much, thought deeply, and enjoyed serious discourse. Want an opinion? Ask David! I am honored to have considered him a friend.
Yours in peace, Sue Marcus

My heartfelt condolences to David's family. David was an old friend from college days - smart, charismatic, warm, so full of life in those tumultuous and energized times of the late 60s. I want to especially extend my deep sympathy to David's sister Toby: I remember well how greatly he admired you as a college sophomore when I first met him. Though I hadn't seen David in many years, he lives in my memory of those days, as a significant member of a group of close friends. May he rest in peace and may his family have the comfort of loving memories of a unique individual - one of a kind.
