David Slager Obituary

David Slager

"This world and its desires are in the process of passing away, but those who love to do the will of God live forever."

1 John 2:17

David went home with Jesus on Saturday, April 19, 2025. His passion for living drew others into a realm of adventure and fun. His many stories and laughter will be missed. Thank you, David, for your bold love and childlike faith in our Heavenly Father and Son, Jesus. We will "See you later!"

David Fred Slager, affectionately known as Eyes, Red and Red Man, was born on January 30, 1958 in Beaver Dam, the son of Clarence and Frieda (Kuiper) Slager. He graduated from Beaver Dam High School and faithfully worked as a truck driver at Beaver Services, Inc. for Blaine Andler, his boss, his brother-in-Christ and his best friend. He was united in marriage to Carrie Steen on May 24, 2003 in Beaver Dam.

David is survived by his wife, Carrie of Waupun; step-children, Jayme (Jessica) Roll, Jeremy (Jody) Roll and Jennilyn (Lamarr) Chaplin; 11 grandchildren, Harper and Emme Roll, Ayden, Alexis, Austin and Wyatt Yerges, Kytalin and Levi Roll, Charles, Elijah and Ellamae Chaplin; siblings, Don (Marty) Slager, Dick (Sherri) Slager, both of Beaver Dam, Evonne (Dave) Kooiman, Daniel Slager, both of Waupun; sister-in-law, Deb Slager of Beaver Dam; aunts and uncle, Denis and Nancy Hampton, Donna Koppa and Betty Kuiper; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard and Jennie (Medema) Slager and Fred and Emma (Kikkert) Kuiper; parents, Clarence and Frieda (Kuiper) Slager; brother, Dewey Slager; sister-in-law, Dorothy Slager; nephew, Ben Kooiman; and other relatives.

All are welcome to attend a Celebration of Life Service for David at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Edgewood Community Church, 1209 W Circle Drive, Beaver Dam with Pastor Kyle Witek officiating. A time of food and fellowship will follow the service at the church.
