David Brian Smith, 63, of Tyronza, Arkansas departed this life on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at his home.  He was born on October 29, 1959 to Reeder Franklin and Shirley Barton Smith in Chicago, Illinois.  He was a member of Refuge Church in Marked Tree, Arkansas.  He grew up working in his parents Western Auto Store.  At age 19 he began working at Jack Morris Auto Glass as an installer, working his way to General Manager.  David was an avid Arkansas Razorback fan and a Chicago Cubs fan.  He loved motorcycles, his 1983 Chevrolet truck known as “Old Blue,” and raced stock cars for twenty years.  He took pride in his yard and made a point to always be involved in his grandchildren’s activities.  He loved his family, co-workers, church family, and racing family.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

David is survived by his wife of twenty-eight years: Debbie Smith of the home, two daughters” Deanna Branch (Ben) of Marked Tree, Arkansas, and Brandi Wages (Michael) of Marked Tree, Arkansas, one sister: Becky Hostetler (Monte) of Pratt, Kansas, five grandchildren: Ryan Wages, Addison Branch, Emma Wages, Levi Branch and Luke David Branch.

Funeral service will be held at Refuge Church in Marked Tree, Arkansas on Monday August 21, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held at Delancey Funeral Home in Marked Tree, Arkansas on Sunday August 20, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Interment will follow funeral service in Tyronza Cemetery, Tyronza, Arkansas.

Brother Micah Cotrell will officiate the service.

Arrangements are under the care of Delancey Funeral Home, Marked Tree.
