David Smith, 64, of Littleton, MA, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Smith; their daughter, Megan Pelley, and her husband, Brendan; his son, Tyler Smith; his parents, Richard and Barbara Smith; his sister, Judy Smith Cutino; and his grandchildren, Miles, Cyprus, and Lachlan.
David attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute where he earned his undergrad in chemical engineering and his Masters in computer science. He enjoyed a long career with Raytheon, where he was software engineer.
David was fond of travel and relaxing at his beach house in Hampton, NH. He was known for his legendary sense of dry humor and his perseverance with DIY home repairs. Dave was a patron of the arts and enjoyed live theater, musicals, films, books and independent music; he was a daily listener of WERS. Dave enjoyed dining out, craft beer, his beloved New England Patriots and any chance to shine at trivia.
His true legacy will be the love, patience and kindness that he always showed his family and friends.
A private celebration of life will be announced a later date.
