David Mark Smith passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 15, 2026 in Howell, NJ. He was 68 years old.
Born on June 8,1957 in Perth Amboy, NJ to the late Robert and Sandy Smith, David resided in the Avenel section of Woodbridge before moving to Howell, NJ for the last 40 years.
David was a 1976 graduate of Colonia High School. He worked as a Union Carpenter and Professional Wallcovering Specialist for many years, before opening his own business C&D Wallcoverings.
David was passionate about sports from a young age, winning numerous awards as a star football, basketball and baseball player. David loved to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle with his life long friends. He loved to build furniture from wood and he loved his log cabin home.
David will be remembered for his deep love for his family and life long friends and love for animals. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live forever in the hearts of those who were blessed enough to know him.

David is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Caroline Brandy Smith, and his son David, Jr. He is also survived by several siblings, his sister-in-law Donna Brandys, his nephews Dennis and Kyle, and several other nieces and nephews as well as his lifelong friends.
The family will hold a private celebration of his life.
