Dale Allen Smith

Dale Allen Smith, age 68, of Midwest City, Oklahoma, passed away on February 19, 2026.

Born on January 28, 1958, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Dale and Shirley Smith, Dale was best known for his carefree, "go with the flow" nature. He took life as it came, meeting every challenge with an easygoing spirit.

A skilled craftsman, Dale spent much of his career in carpentry, specializing in the work of building out ambulance interiors. In a fitting final chapter to his career, he worked for Coca-Cola, a dream role for a lifelong collector of Coca-Cola memorabilia.

Outside of work, Dale was a true lover of music. He spent hours with his extensive collection of vinyl records, and nothing made him happier than listening to his favorite, Bob Seger.

Above all, Dale loved his family more than anything. He is survived by his children: Nicole Jones, Christine (Eric) Vanderheyden, and Erica (Ryan) Burns; his brother, Steve (Joan) Smith; and his beloved grandchildren: Mackenzie Pumphrey, Lyla Jones, Lincoln Jones, Jack Burns, and Ellie Burns.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Dale's aunt, Judy Goodin, and to his cousins, Janeen (Brandon) Schuster and Toni (Jeff) Lawson, for their unwavering support and positive impact on his life. Special thanks are also extended to the Elvik family and his special friends, Delores Calandro-Wright and Katie and Royce Manning-Perez, for being a constant, loving presence in his journey.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Smith; his father, Dale Smith; and his sister, Debbie Smith.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, April 11th from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM at Del City Community Center located at 4505 SE 15th St, Del City, OK 73115. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Midwest City Animal Shelter https://www.midwestcityok.org/183/Animal-Welfare
