He was born January 20, 1953 in Tampa, Fl to Ray and Delphine Snyder. They lived in Miami, FL throughout his early childhood years, before moving to Merritt Island, FL when he was 12 years old. He attended Edgewood Junior High School and later graduated from Merritt Island High School. During these years he met many lifelong friends, including the love of his life, Loraine Sutton.
David and Loraine were married July 15, 1972 and in July 2022, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They spent the early years of marriage working for Mayflower moving company, driving their tractor trailer across the country, and traveling the world. They eventually settled back down in Merritt Island to start a family and business. He turned a small steel business into Snyder Steel, Inc. which has designed and built a large majority of commercial and residential buildings all over Brevard County, along with many other projects all around Florida and surrounding states.
Dave and Loraine have three children; Daniel, Chelsea, and Zac. No matter how busy or stressful work might've been he always had time for family fun! Whether it was a bike ride, shootin' hoops, a day in the water, or an all-out family vacation.
He coached all of his kids' soccer, baseball, and basketball teams for many, many years and even coached his grandson's basketball teams. He loved kids and all the kids loved him for many reasons, but one of them being he was still a big kid at heart.
Dave was one of the most devoted Christians you could ever be blessed to know. He would help anyone, anytime, for any reason without hesitation. He was an all around amazing man, and even a more amazing father. He has left his family and friends with an endless amount of precious memories. He will be forever loved and deeply missed but we are happy to know he is now at "Peace with Jesus." (Isaiah 11:6)
He is survived by his wife Loraine Snyder, his children Zac Snyder, Daniel and Cristiana Snyder, Carlos and Chelsea Sosa, and his five grandchildren, Isaiah, Lela, Carlos Jr., Leilana, and Noah, and his brother and sister, Don Snyder and Deborah Morris, along with brother and sister in-laws, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The Memorial service will be held at 11:30am on Monday, April 10th at FBCMI, Visitation will start at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to WEGO.org, an orphanage ministry that Dave was passionate about.
