David Soika, a beloved family man and esteemed professional, passed away on March 16, 2025, at the age of 71 in Riverhead, New York. He was born on May 4, 1953, in Copiague, New York, to Joseph Francis Soika and Mary Olive Vitolo, both of whom predeceased him.
David's career was marked by dedication and passion as he served as the Apprenticeship Coordinator for the Heat and Frost Insulators Local 12 for an impressive 45 years. In his role, which he occupied for 25 years, David profoundly changed the lives of his students, providing guidance, support, and a wealth of knowledge that inspired so many. His influence will be felt for generations to come, a testament to his commitment to nurturing talent and fostering success within the field.
David is survived by his beloved wife of almost 50 years, Maryann Soika, his cherished sons, Brian (Erin) Soika, Kevin (Amanda) Soika, and Tom (Carri) Soika. He took great pride in his grandchildren, Keira, Amy, Shannan, and Luke Soika, who were a source of immense joy and happiness in his life. He will also be remembered fondly by his brothers, Robert Soika and Steven (Beth) Soika.
The community and all who knew David will gather to pay their respects on March 18, 2025, for visitation from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and again from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM at the Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home, located at 406 E Main St, Riverhead, NY. A prayer service will be held on March 19, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM, concluding at 11:30 AM, also at the same location.
David leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and love for his family that will endure in the hearts and minds of all who knew him. He will be profoundly missed, but his impact will live on through his family and the countless lives he touched.
