David Spector Obituary

Published by Legacy on Sep. 17, 2025.
David Albert Spector, age 40, passed away suddenly on September 5, 2025.

David was a beloved son, devoted dad, loving brother, uncle, grandson, nephew and friend.

David was born in Voorhees, New Jersy on September 21, 1984. The family moved to Springfield, Pa. when he was 3 years old. He attended the Springfield school system from kindergarten thru twelfth grade. Then went on to graduate Neumann University with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice.

He always did well at school. David pursued many activities throughout school, including playing on various baseball, soccer, and basketball teams. He was a born athlete and always excelled in anything he tried. Because of his excellent character, he was nominated by several teachers in seventh grade, for an opportunity to go abroad with the "Up With People" non-profit organization.

He was accepted and went to Australia, for 3 weeks, during the summer between seventh and eighth grade. His grandmothers were not happy about this, thinking he was too young. But it was an amazing opportunity for him. He loved it.

After college David had various short- and long-term jobs, where he always moved to the top, because of his impeccable work ethic, dedication, and extreme sense of responsibility. He tried to never miss a day of work. Presently he has been a card-carrying member of Local Union 57. He worked, and some days managed the crew, in traffic control for TMI. He was well respected and will be sorely missed there.

Dave was a genuinely warm and extremely likable guy. Everyone who crossed paths with him were instantly drawn in and found a "friend" in him. But, for the last 6 years, his love and attention have been mostly focused on his son, Hayden.

He tried to be the best dad that he could be to Hayden. And it showed. He was a wonderful dad, as all who knew him could see.

David is survived by his beloved son, Hayden: mother and father, Gary and Janice Spector (nee Durso): brother, Jason: stepsisters, Amy and Megan: grandmother, Rita Durso: best friend and Hayden's mom, Toya Reese: a niece and nephew: aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Albert Durso: grandmother and grandfather, Frances and Irving Spector.

We are forever indebted to the rehabilitation facilities, recovery houses, NA and AA groups, Nar-Anon family groups, and others in recovery who positively impacted David in his life.

Funeral & Interment will be private.
