David Kent Sperry

Dave was born to parents Dale and Jackie Sperry on January 31, 1954, in Seattle, Washington.  He passed away at his home in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina on March 22, 2023, after a lengthy illness. He is survived by Billa his wife of 42 years, daughter Chanda (Ed Briones), son Brandon, and granddaughters Kaitlyn, Evelyn, and Jaycee; his mother Jackie, and sisters Diane, Kathi (Michael Braun), and Susan (James Sporrong); Stovall in-laws Bill, Bertha, Kristi (Tom Johnson) and Jerry; and 8 nieces and 2 nephews, and 21 grand nieces and nephews.

 

He attended Ballinger Elementary, Madrona Jr. High, and Woodway High.   The summer of 1961 he crewed on the NOAA weather station ship in Alaskan waters.   While employed as a supervisor at the John Fluke Mfg. Co. he met Billa and they were married in  September 1981.  He joined B&B Cable Co where he became co-owner. They resided in Mill Creek, Washington, until relocating to Mt. Pleasant. South Carolina.

 

Dave was the manager of his son’s hockey team for several years.  He enjoyed travel and water activities and spent vacations at his summer home in Eastern Washington’s Sunland Estates on the Columbia River. He was a self-taught craftsman noted for his broad knowledge and expertise in all aspects of home project development and execution, always striving for perfection.  He served for several years on the Home Owner’s Association for their neighborhood in Mt. Pleasant working tirelessly toward community improvements. He had a teasing sense of humor, enjoyed board games, neighborhood get togethers, and helping others.  He was devoted to his family, friends and beloved family pets.

 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at 10:00 am at Seacoast Church - Mount Pleasant, 750 Long Point Road, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464.
