David C. Stankus

David C. Stankus, 67, of South Fayette Township, peacefully passed away Monday, March 13, 2023, at his home with family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Rona Stankus for 13 beautiful years; loving father of Austin Stankus, Taylor Stankus and Angel Stankus; caring brother of Ginny Whitaker and Jan Stankus; treasured son of the late Alphonse and Gertrude Stankus; cherished uncle of Jeffrey (Robin) Whitaker and their sons, Adam and Marshall Whitaker; Austin and Taylors' mother, Terri Sawdon. Dave was a graduate of South Fayette High School in 1973 and the University of Pittsburgh, where he received his bachelor's degree in psychology and master's degree in information science. Dave worked as a programmer/analyst for Carnegie Mellon University from 1980-1991, and a systems analyst for the Pittsburgh Board of Education until his retirement. He was a past member of the Corvair Club and the Old Westmoreland Long Rifles Club. Dave enjoyed silversmithing, primitive camping with Rendezvous friends, making baklava for family Christmas, cooking Chinese food, fishing at Outer Banks, participating in muzzle loader rifle events and woodworking. He will be remembered for his caring nature, sense of humor and love of family and friends. Funeral arrangements are by BEINHAUER- FRYER. Friends and family are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 18 and Sunday, March 19, at 430 Washington Ave. Bridgeville, 412-221-3800. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, March 20, in Corpus Christi Parish, Holy Child, 212 Station St., Bridgeville, PA 15017. Everyone please meet at church. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery.
