David Mark Stavinoha, a cherished son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025, in his hometown of Houston, Texas. Born on January 28, 1954, to Jerome (deceased) and Ruby Stavinoha, David's life was a testament to his friendly, loving, and kind nature, which left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
David was a proud graduate of St. Thomas High School, where he formed lifelong friendships and developed a passion for learning and sports that would stay with him throughout his life. After graduation, David pursued a career as an auto mechanic, a profession where his skill and dedication were evident. He was known for his meticulous work and the care he took with each vehicle, as if it were his own.
Throughout his life, David was an active member of his community and a devoted Christian, living his faith through his actions and in the way he treated others. His love for his family was unwavering, and he is survived by his beloved mother, Ruby, and brothers Jerome, Mathew, and Joseph, as well as his sister Veronica. David now joins his father Jerome and brothers Paul, John, Lawrence, and Charles in eternal rest.
David's interests were as broad as his smile and as varied as the many friends he made. He was an avid fisherman, often found at the break of dawn by the water's edge, waiting patiently for the day's catch. His artistic talent shone through in his paintings, which were as vibrant and full of life as David himself. A fitness enthusiast, he enjoyed weightlifting, playing tennis, and participating in baseball, always encouraging others to join him in a healthy and active lifestyle. He passed on his passion for baseball and painting to many nephews and grand-nephews.
Another of David's passions was drag racing. The thrill of the race, the roar of the engines, and the sense of camaraderie among fans brought him immense joy. David's presence at these events was a highlight for many, as his enthusiasm was contagious.
To say that David was friendly, loving, and kind is to speak of the fundamental truths of his character. His warmth and generosity knew no bounds, and his ability to make everyone around him feel valued was a rare gift. David's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the countless lives he touched with his gentle spirit.
As we bid farewell to David Mark Stavinoha, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of passion, kindness, and an unwavering spirit of camaraderie. His memory will continue to inspire those who had the pleasure of knowing him, and he will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him. David's journey on earth has ended, but the memories he created will forever be cherished in the hearts of many. Rest in peace, David; your light will continue to shine in the lives you've touched.
