David Allen Stickney, 63 years old, passed suddenly from this life to his Heavenly home with Christ on September 29, 2025 after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his family who loved him dearly.

David was born on March 23, 1962 in San Francisco, California to parents Marie Coombes of Cottonwood, California and Frederick Stickney. David graduated from Enterprise High School in Redding, California in 1980. Immediately after high school, he joined the United States Marine Corps and initially served as a shore party specialist. He then attended Marine Security Guard School in Quantico, Virginia and proudly served as a U.S. Embassy guard in Barbados, Chad, and Ghana. He earned several awards and recognitions, including the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.

Upon his honorable discharge in 1985, David returned to California and attended Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill. He worked in many fields, including warehousing, quality management, facility maintenance, and commercial truck driving.

David became a blackbelt in Taekwon-Do and opened his own studio, Delta Tae Kwon Do, in 2004 where he shared his love and knowledge of the martial art with many who became lifelong friends. David was also an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing, hiking, and camping.

As a young man, David accepted Christ as his Savior. He was a member of Morello Hills Christian Church in Martinez, California and later attended Golden Hills Community Church in Brentwood, California. His faith was very precious to him, and he was secure in his hope of eternal life with Christ.

David married Connie Holmstedt in 1988, and together, they helped build their own house in Brentwood, California where they lived for over 30 years.

David is survived by his wife Connie, son Dustin Stickney, daughter-in-law Briana Stickney, daughter Darcy Silva, son-in-law, Samuel Silva, daughter Natalee Hewitt, son-in-law, Robert Hewitt, son Shane Stickney, four dearly-loved grandchildren, mother Marie Coombes, step-mother Sylvia Stickney, siblings Cheryl Doss, Janice Vincak (Eddie), Jim Stickney (Audrey), Pam Smith (Darrell), Diana Ribinsky (John), Troy Stickney (Seena), and Doris Stickney. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

David was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Stickney, step-father Ben Coombes, and brother-in-law Greg Doss.

Interment with military honors will be at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, California on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at 10:30 A.M.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Calvary Community Church in Knightsen, California on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 11:00 A.M.
