FORT PLAIN – David Allen Stocking "Jr", age 68, passed away on Monday October 24, 2022 in Albany Medical Center.
He was born August 18, 1954 in Rantoul, Illinois a son of Virginia Tero Stocking and the late David Stocking. He was raised and educated in Illinois graduating from Crossland High School. On October 25, 1975, he was united in marriage with the former Deborah A. Bunn, a blessed union of 22 years until her passing on October 3, 1998.
David was a carpenter by trade and worked for over 20 years for Titan Homes later for American Homes in Richfield Springs. He was a big fan of NASCAR, enjoyed to go fishing and singing.He truly enjoyed being with his friends. He held memberships with American Legion Post 554 and VFW Post 3275 both of Fort Plain where occasionally he would bartend.
He was a friend to many and will never be forgotten.
Besides his mother Virgina he is survived by three daughters Sonya Buck and her husband Sean of Waynesville, Ohio, Heather Thomas and her husband Nicholas of West Winfield, and Jolene Gerace and her husband Victor of Whitesboro, two sisters Terri Morton and her husband Michael of Burlington Flats, Cheryl Coones and her husband Harry of Schuyler Lake, seven grandchildren and one soon to be great-grandchild, several nieces, nephews and cousins and a special friend Richard Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his father David, a son David Stocking, two brothers William Stocking and Dusty Stocking.
Calling hours for Mr. Stocking will take place on Sunday from 2:00 – 4:00pm in J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 West James Street, Richfield Springs. A funeral service to follow at the conclusion of calling hours at 4:00pm with Chaplain Jim Peck of the VFW officiating.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in donations to the Susan G. Komen fund, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
