Moultrie, Georgia – David Ronald Stripling, 84, of Moultrie, Georgia, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, December 22, 2025, at Cobb Funeral Chapel, with the Reverend Julian Griner officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service.
Born October 19, 1941, in Moultrie, Georgia, he was a son of the late Howard Benoit Stripling and the late Mattie Lou Hammond Stripling.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Charles Stripling, Billy Stripling and wife, Mildred, Judy Dunn, Doris Tillman and husband, Chubb, and Bobby Stripling.
He faithfully served in the United States Army from 1963 until 1969, being honorably discharged with the rank of Specialist E4. Following his military service, he retired after 24 years with the Moultrie Police Department as a Patrolman, then later retired from the Colquitt County Roads and Bridges Department as a Dump Truck Driver. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, gardening and coin collecting.
Survivors include his wife of almost 60 years, Mildred Ann Giles Stripling; daughter, Lori Ann Stripling and husband, Eric; grandchildren, Hannah Brianne Stripling and Devin Lou Stripling; sister, Alice Faye Wingate and husband, Banks; nieces and nephews, Sonja Stripling Stroyls, Karen Sanderson, Gina Dismuke, Joy Phillips, Cyndi Grimard, James Dunn, Melissa Martinez, Carol James, Terrell Stripling and Chuck Stripling; brother-in-law, Craig Giles and wife, Glenda; sister-in-law, Josephine Stripling; as well as other extended family members and friends.
Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
