David Harrison Sweazy

A Bloomfield resident, Mr. David Harrison Sweazy, age 76, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at U of L Hospital at Jewish in Louisville. He was born February 20, 1948 in Louisville to the late Gillman H. and Matha Hardin Sweazy. David was retired from General Electric, a Navy veteran, and a member of Chaplin Methodist Church. He was an avid beekeeper; loved horses, hunting, farming, and his wife Diane's home cooking. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bonnie Prewitt Sweazy, and a son, Shawn Sweazy.
David is survived by his wife Lora Diane Hood Sweazy; 3 daughters, Lora (Mike) Koons of Chaplin, Laticia (Travis) Clark of Raywick, Leisha Wininger of Cox's Creek; 2 sisters, Deloris Corey of Perryville, Charlene (Mike) Thompson of Chaplin; and 2 brothers, Richard (Rita) Sweazy of Bardstown, Steve (Carol) Sweazy of Shepherdsville; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. David Harrison Sweazy will be Monday, November 11, 2024 at 11:00 at Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Michael Morris officiating. Interment will follow at Highview Cemetery in Chaplin. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 10 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm at the funeral home, and Monday morning after 8:30 am until time of service. The Houghlin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
