David Lee Theobauld

David Theobauld, a man whose life journey spanned continents and cultures, passed away peacefully in Chandler, Arizona, on February 7, 2026. He was 86 years old. Born on November 3, 1939, in the quiet community of Fort Morgan, Colorado, David’s early years in the American Midwest instilled in him a sense of duty and a curiosity about the world that would define his future. In 1956, he answered the call to service, joining the United States Marine Corps. His four years of service (1956–1960) shaped his character and prepared him for the global adventures to come.


After his honorable discharge and the completion of his education, David began a distinguished career with Texas Instruments. His professional expertise eventually took him to Seoul, South Korea. It was there that David’s life changed forever when he met the love of his life, Sung Hee. The two were married and shared 44 years of a deep, devoted partnership built on mutual respect and love.


David’s career and adventurous spirit later led the family to the Philippines following the birth of their daughter, Linda. Whether navigating the corporate world in the Far East or building a home in new lands, David was a steadfast provider and a loving father. In 2000, David retired from Amkor to the warmth of Arizona, trading his international travels for a well-deserved period of rest and family time. He will be remembered by those who knew him as a man of extraordinary experiences, a proud veteran, and, above all, a devoted family man.


David is survived by his beloved wife, Sung Hee Theobauld; his daughter, Linda Theobauld; 2 beautiful granddaughters Claire and Lara, and a community of friends and extended family who were touched by his kindness and remarkable life story.


A Visitation will be held for David on Saturday, February 14, 2026 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at Whitney & Murphy Bueler Mortuary, 14 West Hulet Drive, Chandler, AZ 85225. A Memorial Service will follow, with Military honors beginning at 1 PM.
