David Lee Thurman, age 64, was born on October 10, 1961, to Millie Jean Rape Thurman of Pittsburg, Texas, and Jack Loyd Thurman of Nevada, Texas. He lived most of his life in Mineola, Texas, where his roots, faith, and lifelong connections were firmly planted.

David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Donna Gaby Thurman, his wife of 34 years.

He is survived by his daughters, Renee' Thurman Childers and Brenda Thurman Montalbano, both of Maple Valley, Washington. He is also survived by his stepsons; Norman Barnhart and wife Julie, Dale Caston, Jesse Caston, and Jason Caston and wife Stefanie. Together, David and Donna shared a blended family of 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

David is also survived by his siblings: sister Patricia Thurman Wood of Ft. Worth, brother Richard Thurman, sister Vici Houton and husband Jim, and brother Glen Thurman and wife Pam, all of Mineola.

David spent his career as an over-the-road truck driver, a profession he respected and took great pride in. He earned a distinguished safe-driving award for surpassing one million miles without an accident, a testament to his professionalism and steady dedication.

He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Mineola, where his family has a long and meaningful history of membership.

David loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was well known for his storytelling, often sharing memorable tales of the people he met and the adventures he experienced on the road. He also cherished time spent with his special friends-Terry, Virginia, and Linda-whom he lovingly called his sisters. Playing dominoes with them was a favorite pastime and, at times, a very competitive sport.

David will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love of fellowship, his sense of humor, and the stories that brought laughter to those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
