David Tirsell, age 77, of Mount Clemens, died trusting in the Lord Jesus on September 2, 2025. Born December 10, 1947, in Kansas City, Missouri, Dave was raised in Indianapolis. He is a graduate of Purdue University. He and wife Lila were married April 6, 1975.

After serving in the United States Army, Dave held a variety of careers, environmental engineer at Dow Chemical, bookseller at Barnes and Noble, and staff member at Trinity Lutheran Church of Clinton Township. In 2023 he retired after 17 years with Macomb County Habitat for Humanity.

Dave found joy using his God-given gifts to serve others, especially by coming alongside first-time homeowners as they built their permanent home. He freely shared his talents for singing and gardening. His quick-witted puns brought smiles and groans!

Dave is survived by his wife, Lila; brother Jack (Sue) Tirsell; niece Elaine (Larry) Barden; nephews Don (Anne) Tirsell, Randy (Jen Rahman) Tirsell, Mike Tirsell; and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother Glenn (the late Helen) Tirsell.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2025, from 12:30 pm until 5:00 pm in the Harold W. Vick Funeral Home, 140 South Main, Mount Clemens, Michigan. On Monday, September 8, 2025, David will lie in state at Trinity Lutheran Church, 38900 Harper, Clinton Township, from 12 noon until 1:00 pm the time of services. Services at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan with military honors will be announced.

Contributions may be addressed to Trinity Lutheran Church, 38900 Harper, Clinton Township, Michigan 48036 or Macomb County Habitat for Humanity, 46660 Van Dyke, Shelby Township, Michigan 48317.
