He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred C. Tobey Jr. and Grace Miller Powell Tobey, and by his older brother, Fred C. Tobey III (“Ted”).
David is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Janice (Adams) Tobey; their four children, Jene’, David Jr., Nicole, and Michelle; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Jene’ and her husband Byron Hunter have two children, Anna (with her husband Austin Counts and their two children) and Kyle (with his wife Amanda and their two children). David Jr. and his wife Mercy have one daughter, Gene’lle. Nicole and her husband Greg Wright have two sons, Asa and Noah. Michelle and her husband Mark Salzwedel have three children: Alissa (with her husband Robert Lindholm), Tyler, and Michael. He is also survived by his twin brother, Donald Tobey, along with Donald’s wife, Pat, and their family; and sister in law, Joan (Ted's wife)
After proudly serving in the U.S. Air Force with the Strategic Air Command, David worked primarily as a purchasing agent in the electronics industry.
Dave found great joy in traveling, fishing (especially fly fishing), playing 42 dominoes, swing dancing and jitterbugging, and woodworking in his “Little Red Barn.” He was also known to love Jan’s lasagna. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him
