David Lee Todd, 71, of Lancaster, Ohio passed away peacefully at the Pickering House on April 19, 2022.
David was extremely proud of his family. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Todd; sister, Christine
Todd; sons, Andy (Amy) Todd and Phillip (Heather) Todd; grandson, Leland Todd; granddaughters, Amber
Purdin, Abby Todd, and Lucy Todd; great-grandson, Ethan Rutter; and friend, Marcia Todd.
David is preceded in death by his mother, Anita Todd and grandson, Anthony Purdin.
David was a dedicated educator, retiring from both Lancaster City and Fairfield County schools. "Mr.
Todd" couldn't go anywhere without running into former students and colleagues who were always
happy to see him.
David enjoyed traveling especially to Hocking Hills, Lake Erie, Washington, DC, Disney World and
other locales.
David's undergraduate education was at The Ohio State University and he was an avid Buckeye fan. He
had master's degrees in education administration from Xavier and Ashland Universities.
David was a member of the Buckeye Lake Yacht Club, and enjoyed attending activities there and
spending time on the porch enjoying the view of the lake. David also enjoyed fishing, coin collecting,
fine dining, watching football games and going to golf tournaments; but more than anything else, he
loved helping people.
David Todd was the soul of generosity, always lending a hand to his family, friends, and neighbors. He
was cared for by so many people. Our loving memories of his acts of kindness, sense of humor, giving
personality and warm smile will keep him fresh in our hearts forever.
In remembrance of David, donations can be made to FairHope Hospice and Palliative Care, 282 Sells Road, Lancaster, Ohio.
A celebration of life will be held May 6, 2022 at LifeBridge Church, 1001 S. Main St. #8, Baltimore, OH 43105 (next to Cristy's Pizza) from 4:00 - 8:00 PM.
