David "Bird" Turner

David A. "Bird" Turner age 65 of Glenolden formerly of Ridley Park passed away on March 13, 2026 surrounded by his family.

Born and raised in Ridley Park, Bird graduated in 1979 from Ridley High School where he played football and basketball.

Bird proudly served his county as a veteran of the US Marine Corps.

An avid golfer, Bird enjoyed playing softball in the Delaware County Leagues. He was a great cook and especially enjoyed preparing meals with his wife.

He retired from East Coast Transport where he worked for 35 years.

He is predeceased by father Philip S. Turner Sr., brother Philip "Digger" Turner Jr., and his step father Richard B. Hutchison.

Survivors: Beloved husband of Maureen Sheckler Turner, dear son of Helen C. Hutchison, loving brother of Susan(Chip) LeMaitre, Barbara Orr, Lynne Williams, Sandra Turner and Tracey (Bob) Rushton, brother in law of Donna(Skip) Sheckler, Charles (Linda)Sheckler, Thomas(Kelly) Sheckler and Maryellen Carroll and many nieces nephews, 1 great nephew, 2 great nieces and many friends.

Memorial Service: 11am Saturday, March 21, 2026 at McCausland Garrity Marchesani Funeral Home, 343 S. Chester Pike Glenolden, PA. 19036

Visitation: 9-11 at the funeral home

Burial: Private
