Obituary of David Michael Tyree
David Michael Tyree passed away peacefully at his home with his family at the bedside on September 11, 2024, in Burleson, Texas. He was 68 years old.
David was born in Salina, Kansas on February 20, 1956, to Guy Tyree and Margery Grant Tyree. David's father was in the US Air Force and his childhood was spent stationed in many Air Force bases: Naha AFB in Okinawa, Japan, Schilling AFB in Salina, Kansas, Carswell AFB in Fort Worth, Texas, Wurtsmith AFB in Oscoda, Michigan, Grissom AFB in Bunker Hill, Indiana, and Altus AFB in Altus, Oklahoma. David enlisted in the Air Force at age 17, to serve his country during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in U-Tapao Thailand during the evacuation of Saigon. David experienced exposure to Agent Orange, resulting in the multiple health problems he endured. David married LuAnn Bjornseth on April 22nd, 1989, and they built a home and raised their family in Southwest Fort Worth, Texas. Employed by the US Postal Service, David worked as a mailman and a Post Office Supervisor.
David was a rock and roll enthusiast throughout his life. David enjoyed bowling in a league with his father and friends. He prided himself on the care and maintenance of his home and landscape. David was an avid fisherman and one of his great joys was a yearly trip to the White River in Northern Arkansas with his great friend of many years, Mark Havens. David and LuAnn relocated to Burleson, Texas in 2016. There he enjoyed several hobbies such as wood carving, wood burning, building models, and watching old Sci-fi movies.
David is survived by: his wife of 35 years, LuAnn Gail Tyree of Burleson, Texas; his son, Christopher Michael Tyree of Whitney, Texas and daughter, Rachel Danielle Cadena of Burleson, Texas; his grandchildren, Eternity Tyree of Markum, Texas, Kerby Holder and wife Shannon of Andrews, Texas, Sophie Tyree of Whitney, Texas, and his Burleson grandchildren Kylin Cadena, Ava Murillo, Christopher Cadena, Adelai Cadena, Bjorn Cadena, and Eli Cadena; great grandchildren Amethyst Tyree of Markum, Texas and Miles Holder of Andrews, Texas; his brother, William Grant Tyree and wife Deb Tyree of Azle, Texas and sister Barbara Tyree of Henderson, Kentucky.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Margery Tyree, paternal grandparents, Roy and Mary Ethel Tyree and maternal grandparents Norman and Hazel Grant.
A Memorial Service for David will be held on Thursday, September 19th at 10:00 am at Martin Thompson & Son, 6009 Wedgwood Drive, Fort Worth, Texas 76133. A Celebration of Life is to follow at 11:30 am at The Oaks Event Center, 13765 Southern Oaks Drive, Burleson 76028.

David was my Grandfather but to me he was so much more than that he was my best friend, my dad, my biggest supporter, he meant everything to me and I´m so hurt that now he´s gone

While I have never met this David Tyree, he is the 3rd cousin 2x removed of my deceased husband. My deepest sympathies and condolences to his family and friends. He will certainly be placed in my genealogy database and remembered through the years.
