David Valley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Roan Family Funeral Home of Epsom - Still Oaks Chapel on Mar. 12, 2026.
PITTSFIELD – David Henry Valley, 57, of Pittsfield, passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, March 5, 2026.

He was born on July 13, 1968, in West Palm Beach, Florida, the son of Monique Marie (Levasseur) Valley and the late Henry John Valley. Dave was raised in Pembroke and spent many years working as a self-employed floor installer, taking pride in his craftsmanship and the work he did for others.

Music was a constant in Dave's life. A talented and passionate musician, he played guitar and drums and enjoyed singing, often joking that he was a "one-man band." Some of his favorite moments were spent playing music with his "basement band" friends, especially with his best friend, Larry. Dave loved both listening to and performing music, with a special appreciation for 80's rock and classic country.

Dave also found great joy at home, particularly in his garden. He spent countless hours tending to vegetables he grew himself, with corn being one of his favorites. Gardening was more than a hobby-it was something he loved to share, often giving his harvest to family and friends. Dave took great pride in his home, dedicating time and care to improving it inside and out.

In his quieter moments, Dave enjoyed simple pleasures. He loved watching his favorite television show, All in the Family, and never tired of the comedy of The Three Stooges. He also enjoyed cooking, especially grilling-and was known to favor a good steak. Time spent at the beach with his longtime girlfriend, Gail, was particularly special to him. During their visits they made a tradition of enjoying seafood together, and Dave's favorite treat was fresh scallops.

Above all, Dave will be remembered as someone you could always count on. He had a way of lifting people's spirits, often knowing exactly what to say at the right moment. Known for his humor and easy laughter, Dave was a kind and generous man-a quiet homebody who loved those close to him deeply. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Felicia Mandigo; girlfriend of 18 years, Gail Gilman; brothers, Rick and Tim Valley; grandchildren, Christy Brown, Kamrin Brown, and Arkoneis Parks; and niece, Ty Valley.
