David Michael Van Buskirk

David Michael Van Buskirk of Norristown, Pa passed away on June 26, 2022 at the age of 73. Born on April 26, 1949 to the late Kenneth, Sr. and Eleanor (nee Vendetti) Van Buskirk; he was the beloved husband of over 50 years of Denise (nee Horning) Van Buskirk; loving father of Shane (Stacey); cherished grandfather of Catie and Ryan; brother of Thomas (Patricia), and Mary Ellen Van Buskirk; brother-in-law of Tanis, and Marie. David was preceded in death by his brothers Kenneth, II and his wife Suzanne, Robert, and Richard. He was a dear son-in-law of Virginia Dudas; brother-in-law of Michael Dudas (Trish), Patrick Dudas, and Mary Beth Korup (Joseph); and nephew-in-law of Evelyn Horning. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. David served in the US Army, was a Vietnam veteran, and earned the rank of Sgt. E-5 as a Radio Relay & Carrier Operator. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and Army Commendation Medal for his performance and achievements during the conflict. David retired as Operation's Manager from the Norristown Municipal Waste Authority where he worked for 25 years. Some of David's favorite pastimes were fishing, hunting, bowling and woodworking; he brought his jovial personality to many family picnics and functions; he was also an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He was well known for his generosity, loyalty and diligence. David will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Relatives and friends are invited to David's Life Celebration on Thursday, July 7, 2022 from 9:30-10:20 AM, followed by his funeral service at 10:30 AM at Boyd-Horrox-Givnish Life Celebration Home of East Norriton, 200 W. Germantown Pike; interment to follow at St. Augustine Cemetery.
