David L. Verhagen

David L. Verhagen, surrounded by his family, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025, at the age of 92 at Cherry Meadows Hospice.
David was born on May 16, 1933, the son of the late Nicholas and Margaret (Burke) Verhagen. After graduating from Neenah High School, David enlisted in the United States Navy and served 4 years during the Korean War. He married Margaret Hermus in 1957, and they had 6 children. Margaret passed away in 1969. He married Rosemary Bislew in 1971 and together they raised David's 6 children. He worked for Kimberly Clark for 35 years, retiring in 1991. After retirement, he and Rosemary traveled to 9 countries, took 10 cruises, and enjoyed countless road trips in their motor home.
David is survived by his children: Pam Verhagen, Joanne (Tim) White, Mary (Bob) Lornson, Nick Verhagen, Gary (Tamara) Verhagen and Mark (Angela) Verhagen; 9 Grandchildren: Tina (Kyle) Boswell, Chad (Ashley) Kobs, Brian Lornson, Kevin (Megan) Lornson, Daniel Verhagen, Max (Toni) Verhagen, Meg Verhagen (fiancé Conard Tomlinson) Kassandra Bergner and Jack (Aylssa) Verhagen, 6 step grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
He is further survived by his in-laws: Lynn Verhagen, Jeannie Hermus, John (Antionette) Bislew, Edna Graves, Virginia (Robert) Stark, Helen France, Lawrence (Maria) Bislew and Karen Bislew; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.
David was preceded in death by Margaret (Hermus) Verhagen in 1969 and Rosemary (Bislew) Verhagen in 2020; his siblings Denis Verhagen and Patricia (John) Towns. In-laws, Casey (Betty) Hermus, Sister Jane (O.S.F.), Jane (Joe) Van Hout, Rudy Hermus, Johnny ("Honey") Hermus, William (Carole) Bislew, Edith Schuster, and Don Graves.
Dad was a kind, hardworking man, who had a deep love for his family. He was a devoted father, a loyal friend, and the person everyone turned to when things needed to be fixed. He was a man of deep faith, compassion, and generosity. After a lifetime of giving, caring, and guiding others, he leaves behind a legacy of love and warm memories.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on December 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church 324 Nicolet Blvd., Menasha WI 54952 with Fr. Tom Reynebeau officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in St. Margaret Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by Neenah-Menasha Funeral Honors Team following Mass.
