David (Dave) Voelzke, 78, of Fremont passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025.
The son of the late Edwin and Lorena (Risch) Voelzke, Dave was born November 16, 1946, in Fremont, Ohio.
On October 28, 1967, Dave married Linda A. Hardy and shared 53 years together until her passing in 2021.
After graduating from Fremont Ross High School Dave served in the Ohio National Guard. He worked at Whirlpool for 35 years until he retired.
A man of deep passion and a big heart, he will be remembered for his love of NASCAR, classic muscle cars, and time spent camping or at the cottage – where laughter and stories were never in short supply.
He was a devoted husband to Linda whom he adored beyond words. Their bond was one built on love, laughter, and shared adventures. Family meant everything to him, and he cherished every moment spent with his children, grandchildren, and close friends (Thursday Boy’s Club).
Whether he was cheering on his favorite driver, tinkering in the garage, or relaxing at the river, Dave lived life simply and with joy. His presence brought warmth, humor, and calm to those around him.
He is lovingly remembered by children Tanya (Joe) Jolly and Brian (Jeannette) Voelzke, grandchildren Shaun and Cory (Kelsey) Jolly, Erin Lovins, Brady and Samantha Voelzke, great-grandchildren, Vivien, and Phoebe Lovins as well-as Sister-in-law Shirely Kanan.
He joins his parents, Edwin and Lorena Voelzke, wife Linda Voelzke, brother Robert Voelzke, sisters Maryln Binkley, Norma Stiger, Janet Keim, and Virgina Bender, and his special grand-dog, Penny who went before him.
A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at VFW Post # 2947, 204 Birchard Ave., Fremont, Ohio from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
