With deep love and gratitude for his life, we announce the passing of David O. Wahlen, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, on September 13, 2025, at St. George Regional Hospital in St. George, Utah.

David was born in Murray, Utah, and lived a life filled with faith, service, and love for his family. On December 4, 1965, he married the love of his life, Karen Marie Perry, and together they built a home centered on faith, love, and devotion. In 1982, David and Karen were sealed as an eternal family in the Jordan River Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a faith he treasured throughout his life. To Karen, David was more than a husband-he was her beloved "Buddy," a constant companion and source of strength for nearly six decades.

David graduated from Murray High School in 1962, where he proudly played football. Growing up, he worked alongside his parents and brothers at Wahlen Brothers Furniture until 2000, and owned and operated Homestead Nursery in Murray, Utah, from 1984 to 2016.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1963 to 1970 and carried that spirit of loyalty and patriotism with him always. He had a lifelong love for his country, fishing, and college football-interests that brought him joy and bonded him with family and friends.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin C. Wahlen and Maud A. Wahlen, one sister, two brothers, a son-in-law, 2 daughters-in-law, and a grandson. He is survived by one brother, Robert A. Wahlen.

Above all, David's greatest pride was his family. He and Karen were blessed with four children: David P. Wahlen (Stephen), Kirk E. Wahlen (Merlys), Robin M. Bundy (Shad), and Ryan O. Wahlen. He is also survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Karen M. Wahlen, as well as eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who will remember him for his warmth, humor, and steady example. In addition, he is survived by his in-laws, Jim and Sharon Petersen and Beryl Groves, along with several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the ICU staff, nurses, and doctors at St. George Regional Hospital for their compassionate care.

Services to honor David's life will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at the Cotton Acres Ward, 2434 East Riverside Drive, St George, Utah 84790. A viewing will be held from 11:30 – 12:30 p.m., followed by funeral services at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Tonaquint Cemetery.

Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice in knowing that David's love, faith, and example will live on through the generations he so deeply cherished.
