David Eugene Walker, 60, passed away peacefully at CaroMont Regional Medical Center on May 20, 2024, with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Gaston County on February 14, 1964, to Mary Owens Walker and the late Thomas Eugene Walker. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his sister, Terri Walker McGregor, and his aunts and uncles.
David was a pilot and member of the Stanley Aero Club and loved to fly his Cessna 172. He was a Godly man and dedicated member of Revolution Church where he was active in the men’s life group. David was a great worker and worked for Bimbo Bakery for 27 years and as the business agent for BCTGM Local 103. He was also a great friend and father; he loved his family more than anything else. He and his wife, Dawn, take off at any time to go on trips to the mountains or the beach. He enjoyed working out, riding his Harley Davidson, and was a big Braves fan. David leaves many happy memories to be cherished by his family and friends.
In addition to his mother, Mary Owens Walker, he is survived by his beloved wife of 10 years, Dawn Henderson Walker; sons, David Eugene Walker, Jr., Deonté Eugene Walker, and Caleb Allan Hall; daughters, Wendi Michelle Walker (Beau Lytton), Lisa Gunter (Adam), Chloe Hall, and Cindy William; and his grandchildren, Tammy Walker, Trey Walker, Dakota Lytton, Carleigh Moxley, Melonie Christopher, Kaisley Gunter, Leanna Hope Walker, and Jackson Kzzinsky.
Family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Revolution Church, 1015 W. Franklin Blvd, Gastonia, NC 28052. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Richard Myers and Mr. Ben Hibberts officiating. Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, Trinity section, 1200 South New Hope Road, Gastonia, NC
Pallbearers will be, Deonté Walker, Trey Walker, Dakota Lytton, Caleb Hall, Houston Parker, and Austin Parker.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the No Brainers Foundation, 813 White Jenkins Road, Bessemer City, NC 28016.
