David Bruce Walker

David Bruce Walker, 75, of Laurens and husband of Marion Martin Walker, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2025, at his home.

Born in Laurens, he was a son of the late James Clifford "JC" Walker and Myrtle Baty Wells. A member of Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church, David retired from Torrington. David's passion for helping people led him to volunteering with the Sandy Springs Fire Department, where he rose to the rank of Chief. He later retired from the Laurens City Fire Department, leaving behind a legacy of service and camaraderie. He was the best husband and father a family could ask for.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Chad Walker and wife Lannie and their son, Terry Thompson, and a sister, Delores Bruce and husband James. He was preceded in death by a son, Brian Walker and a brother Howard Walker.

A graveside service with Fireman Honors will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Alex D. Henderson and Rev. Ben Rumph.

The family will receive friends at the cemetery immediately following the graveside service.
