David Wallace Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jan. 8, 2024.
David Charles Wallace passed away on December 28th after a valiant battle with cancer. He touched many lives with his open manner and quirky sense of humor. David was born on October 5, 1944 in the Mission district of San Francisco. When his family moved to the Peninsula, he transferred to Carlmont High School where he graduated in 1962. After attending College of San Mateo where he received an Associate of Arts degree, David sought to continue his education at Sanislaus State when the Vietnam War threatened to interrupt that endeavor. He was permitted to remain Stateside when he volunteered to join the National Guard's officer training program, which allowed him to get a Bachelor of Arts degree. Thereafter he secured a job as a Real Estate Appraiser for Bay View Federal Savings and Loan, a career which spanned 40 years in that industry.
David is survived by his loving sister Sheryl, her husband Denis and four nephews Daniel, David, Joshua and Jacob. Others include former wives Trisha Penney, Cynthia Wallace and her daughters Michelle and Jennifer. A special thanks to Joanne Perac, who took special care of David until his passing, Finally, David had a huge circle of friends, most of whom knew each other for decades.
Family and friends are invited to a funeral service at 10 am on Thursday January 18th at Sneider & Sullivan & O'Connell's Funeral Home, 977 South El Camino Real, San Mateo, CA. After a brief service, all guests are invited to attend lunch at Celia's Mexican Restaurant situated in Laurelwood Shopping Center, 3190 Campus Drive, San Mateo.
