David Joe Ward was born in Angeles City, Philippines. He was raised in a military family and spent some of his childhood in the Philippines and California until his family returned to the Mississippi Gulf Coast to be closer to family. Although he moved away from the Philippines as a young child, he was very proud of his Filipino heritage.
David graduated from D'Iberville High School in 2004. He had a strong work ethic and worked at All Safe Technologies for 9 years. He was well respected in his profession and received special recognition from All Safe for his professional expertise and customer satisfaction.
David shared his love of gaming and skating/skateboarding with his children. David was musically inclined and wrote music and shared his music at church and online. David strived to be a friend to everyone. His sense of humor continued to shine through during his hardest physical struggles. David Ward passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 21, 2025 in Biloxi, MS surrounded by his loving family, friends and care team at the age of 38.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Virginia Hendrickson Ward, maternal grandfather, Lavern Edward Hoda and maternal grandmother, Shirley Smith Hoda.
David is survived by his sons, Ezra Ward and Remington Ward. Being a father was the role he cherished most; his sons were his deepest source of purpose, joy, and unconditional love. He is also survived by his parents, Harold Joe Ward and Kathy Hoda Ward, paternal grandfather, Harold Odom Ward, sisters, Virginia (Luke) Goodyear and Melissa Ward, nieces and nephews, Austin Goodyear, Kyleigh Goodyear, Hunter Goodyear, Keira Ward and Ian Ward, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
While there were numerous blessings received during David's battle with cancer, family would like to thank all of his friends, co-workers, neighbors and family who supported David both spiritually and monetarily during this time.
Thank you to the All Safe family for going above and beyond to provide ongoing benefits and monetary support to David.
Thank you for the spiritual support provided by Pastor James King and his wife, Peggy, and Pastor Eddie Edwards and his wife, Theresa.
Family would like to extend a special expression of extreme gratitude to the team at Singing River Health Systems, Hospice of Light and especially Dr. Randy Roth for granting David's final wish to transition home. David was a man of great spiritual faith and desired to make his final transition at home.
