David Warren Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Doak-Howell Funeral Home on Mar. 13, 2026.
David Wayne Warren, age 67, of Shelbyville, Tennessee, passed from this life on March 10, 2026, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Jesup, Georgia.

A native of Bedford County, David was born on December 4, 1958, to the late Oddis B. Warren and Emma Gladys Woods Warren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Danny Warren and Bobby Warren, and sisters, Nancy Bates and Linda Taylor.

David was born and raised in Bedford County and graduated from Shelbyville Central High School, Class of 1976. He began his working career with Tyson Foods in 1979 and over the years worked his way up to environmental supervisor. He retired in January 2026 with over 46 years of hard work and dedication.

In his free time, David enjoyed hobby farming, raising cattle, and tending a vegetable garden each year. He loved being outdoors, especially when operating his tractors or taking part in the annual dove hunt. He took great pride in his land, his work, and the simple joys of farm life.

David was a devoted family man, a proud grandfather, and over the years he and Daisy opened their home to 98 foster children. Every year he cherished hosting his annual chili supper, a tradition shared with family and close friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Daisy Taylor Warren; his sons, Christopher (Terri) Warren of Shelbyville, Brandon (Hannah) Warren of Jesup, GA, and Bryan Warren of Shelbyville; and nine grandchildren: Christopher, Aiden, Hailey, Jeffery, Daisy, Ellie, John David, Henry, and Madalyn. He is also survived by his siblings Judy (Jimmy) Cooper of Shelbyville, Jimmy (Brenda) Warren of Manchester, Joyce (Billy) Lewis of Shelbyville, and Betty Walker of Shelbyville; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2026, in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Brother Tim Bender officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Herman Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held prior to Funeral services beginning at 1p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
