Dorthea E. Sprinkle

Mrs. Dorthea E. Sprinkle, age 83, of Shelbyville, TN, passed from this life on Friday, February 20, 2026, at her residence with her family by her side.

Born on August 29, 1942, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Paul Anthony DeBoeser and Doris E. McAfee DeBoeser. Mrs. Sprinkle was a devoted homemaker and a woman of the Lutheran faith. She cherished time spent with her family and friends, and she was known for her generous spirit and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Clyde B. Sprinkle Sr.; her children, April (Darrell) Gibson of Edmonton, KY, and Robert Anthony (Tara) Sprinkle of Shelbyville, TN; along with 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sprinkle is preceded in death by her children: Clyde B. Sprinkle Jr., John S. Sprinkle, James Michael Sprinkle, and Wendy Gale Sticher; grandchildren Steven Anthony Sprinkle and Chevella Baker; and siblings Richard R. DeBoeser, Paul DeBoeser, Charles DeBoeser, Allen DeBoeser and Darlene Langford.

Funeral services will be held at 3 PM on Thursday, February 26, 2026, in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home, with Brother Jimmy Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Willow Mount Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 12 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
